Greetings! I’m Simon. I have lived more than half my life in Tokyo, and when you are as long in the tooth as I am, that is a pretty long time!
Although it is fair to say that the level of English encountered in Tokyo, in terms of both quantity and quality, has come on leaps and bounds in that time (in the early 1990s, I recall seeing a rather intriguing sign for “Flesh juice” outside a cafe), I realized that there was still a lack of a one-stop hub where visitors and non-Japanese speaking residents could get quick access to concise information that would help them fully experience this vibrant, amazing city.
I’m just getting started, but this site is my attempt to provide that kind of service. There are a number of ideas I would love to implement, so if you find value in what I do, please consider making a donation to let me spend more time on the site. I understand, of course, that not everyone is in a position to do so. Whether you can or not, I hope you enjoy the time you spend here!
Your feedback is invaluable to me, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with suggestions or constructive comments.
Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to helping you make the most of your Tokyo experience!
